Thanks!

I want to thank everyone who came out to give us a hand with the prop and set area clean out today! It was a huge success!  Do you want to see what we did?

This is what the prop area looked like BEFORE:

You literally couldn't walk through the area.  It has been impossible to find props for shows, because we simply couldn't get to them.  It has been years since this has been cleaned and sorted properly.  We worked on it a little bit last year, but there were only two people who were able to help, and we just couldn't do it alone.

This time, we took everything out.  EVERYTHING.  This is what the space looked like for a few short minutes while we dusted and swept:

This shot was taken about three steps back from the first one, but you can see the size of the room!  It's HUGE!  And it was packed full of stuff.

Of course, we couldn't just leave all of the props up on the stage or out in the parking lot, so we brought back all of the stuff we were going to keep, and put it away.  This is what that looks like:

You might recognize the VERY happy man - that's John Jones, the theatre manager.  All of the boxes on the right-hand side are still full of unorganized props, but now we've got lots of space to take down the boxes and sort through them, one at a time, and then put things away on the shelves.  The theatre is going to be much better at finding props now that we have an organized prop room!

Of course, all of the extra stuff had to go somewhere...

We rented a 4-ton dumpster for all of the things that were beyond repair, and we filled it up to overflowing.  Everything else (the things that are useable, but that the theatre doesn't need anymore) is in the parking lot, free for anyone to take.  In a day or two, once the dumpster is empty, we'll fill it up with everything that's left.

Again, a big thanks to everyone who came out and helped!  You're all stars!

Spring Cleaning!

Today, April 30th, is spring cleaning day!

Come join us at MLT to clear out all of the stuff in the basement - if you've ever been there, you know there's a ton to go through!

We'll provide letters for anyone who needs proof of volunteer hours, too!

Hope to see you there!  And stay tuned for photos of the fun!

Deathtrap!

If you haven't been to see Deathtrap yet, what are you waiting for?? Go get tickets!

And if you're going to see the show anyways, why not volunteer to be an usher?  We still need ushers for FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22.

Help Wanted!

Deathtrap opens at MLT next week, and we need some techs!

Can you run a sound board?  Can you gather props?  Can you maintain costumes?  Can you do any of the million little things that need to be done backstage?

You would need to be available from October 10th until the 24th, for tech rehearsals and the run of the show.

If you interested in helping, email Danielle at MaconLittleTheatreGuild (at) gmail.com!

New Logo!

A big thanks to Travis Ryan for designing the new MLT Guild logo!

Costume Clean-Out

The Guild needs volunteers on Saturday, September 18, 2010, from 8 am until about 5 pm.

We'll be doing a massive clean-out of the costume room at MLT, and we need manpower (and womanpower!). All costume pieces will be taken out of the costume shop, examined for damage, and sorted into men's, women's, boys', and girls' clothing and accessories.

If you're interested in helping out with this project, please contact Danielle at MaconLittleTheatreGuild@gmail.com
